After merging with AMB Property Corporation, Prologis focuses on growing in Latin America, expanding in Mexico and Brazil, Luis Gutierrez Guajardo, SVP, Managing Director, Latin America, declared. "After almost 3 years of financial crisis we see recovery ahead; and after being stagnated we have started building again, leading to a new development stage" Luis Gutierrez explained that in Cuautitlan Izcalli, State of Mexico, two distribution centers are being developed where over US$15 million were invested, and later this year, the construction of the first stage of Prologis Laredo Industrial Park will start. An approximate investment amount of US$74 million is expected to be made in this development, where distribution centers will be built to store goods arriving to the terminal for in-site transfer, avoiding transportation costs and increasing safety.


With the opening of this "Class A" industrial space in the State of Mexico, Prologis strengthens its position as the largest owner, manager and developer in the world. The continuing growth of the company in Mexico is proof of this, where it owns and operates more than 16,000,000 square feet of industrial real estate.

Prologis Park Cedros is an industrial park of more than 98 acres located on the Mexico – Queretaro highway. Prologis will invest approximately US$88 million in Prologis Laredo Intermodal Terminal & Industrial Park, a project located in the State of Mexico, Luis Gutierrez also informed. This long-term project, which will help move containers and railroad cargo in Valle de Mexico, will be developed in two stages. The first stage is already operating; it is an intermodal terminal which required an investment for US$14 million. Containers cargo transported by railroad is handled at this terminal, initially built on a 10 hectares plot of land, and expected to reach 40 in the final stage, when up to 100,000 containers will be handled per year.
