New ThyssenKrupp facilities in Puebla

The German-based ThyssenKrupp group recently inaugurated a new automotive components factory in San Jose Chiapas, in the State of Puebla. The investment is estimated to be about US$10 million. Components for over 150,000 vehicles a year will be produced in these facilities which are located in the Audi Industrial Park. The company expects annual sales of around US$300 million once the maximum production rate has been reached, said Jorge Sanchez, Director of Operations of the Automotive Systems Division. The factory is built on a 5,771 square meter territory and employs 160 associates.
 
 
 

Audi to produce 14,500 units in Puebla

The German automaker Audi will inaugurate its plant in the State of Puebla next summer with an investment total of US$1.3 billion. At this facility 14,500 units of the Q5 model will be produced and they are the first ones to be assembled in Mexico for export all over the world. According to Javier Valadez, Audi’s spokesman, the production areas are completely equipped and functional and ready to produce the “Zero” series. The annual production capacity of the plant will be on the order of 150,000 units.
