ABB gambles on automation for Mexican logistics

Technology firm ABB is looking to expand its presence in industrial automation in Mexico in the upcoming years. The strategic sectors within its plan, are logistics and transport. The automotive industry has been its main customer in recent decades, thanks to the introduction of robotic solutions, followed by sectors such as food and beverages, consumer goods, pharmaceutical and electronic. The arrival of foreign investment in Mexico, with greater visibility in the Bajio area, has influenced ABB's expansion in the Country. The company owns an engineering and manufacturing complex in San Luis Potosi since 2009, where products are manufactured and high, medium and low voltage systems are designed, as well as robotics, control and automation products and systems.
