Aerospace sector growth in Mexico highlighted

MEXICO - The aerospace sector in Mexico is growing faster and faster, said Doug Perry-Hunter, applications manager, process materials for North America at Composites One.
Through a videoconference, organized by the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA), the official said that proof of the growth of the Mexican aerospace sector is that it is visiting more and more customers every time it comes to the country.
“I love and adore the growth potential I see in Mexico with the aerospace industry because of all the parts I see being built in Mexico,” he said during his presentation “Composites One: the widest range of composite raw materials for the aerospace industry”.
He indicated that unfortunately, what he has seen, both in the country and in the United States and other nations where they have a presence, is a degradation in the tribal knowledge of lamination or construction of parts.
“That has really happened in the last five years. Some of that can be attributed, to the slowdown in the aerospace industry during Covid and then some of the more experienced experts leaving the industry.
“And as the new generation comes in, you have to pick up that torch and move on. Not all of these things can be solved in one training. Some of them take time, right?” he asserted.
Perry-Hunter said that has helped him succeed when he visits Mexico and works with the technicians on site.
Juan Juarez, Composites One's Director of Operations and Sales in Mexico, agreed with his U.S. colleague about the growth of the Mexican aerospace market, mainly in states such as Queretaro, Chihuahua, Tijuana, Baja California and Sonora.
He expressed that these are the places where more jobs are being generated in the sector, which is why they are opening the market in the country, due to their great growth in all areas of composites.
He said that the work of this company is the training of personnel in the aerospace industry.
Composites One is the leading supplier of essential materials and technical support services to the North American composites manufacturing industry.
With more than 40 locations in the United States and Canada, it offers the largest selection of products for all composite manufacturing needs, backed by innovative technology and industry solutions, they noted.
