Agricultural production generates US$2.9 billion in Chihuahua

CHIHUAHUA – The minister of Rural Development, René Almedia Grajeda stated that Chihuahua ranks the 4th place in agricultural production and profits generate more than US$2.9 billion annually.

"Agricultural production in Chihuahua surpasses US$2.9 billion annually, nationally we are the fourth state with the highest value in agricultural production and we are as well the fourth state in volume of agricultural production," said René Almeida Grajeda.

Among the most important productions the official reported that cotton, walnut, apple, yellow corn, onion, oats, alfalfa and green chili are products in which Chihuahua is a leader.

"All the industry that participates in Mexico participates in Chihuahua, but undoubtedly the main market for Chihuahua production is export," he added.
