Aguascalientes excels in FDI: INEGI
AGUASCALIENTES - In 2023, Aguascalientes consolidated its position as a key destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Mexico, ranking eighth with a notable increase in investment received.
According to the Ministry of Economy of the Federal Government, the entity attracted US$1.3 billion in FDI, representing an annual growth of 130%, compared to US$598.3 million in 2022.
This achievement underscores Aguascalientes' economic dynamism and its ability to compete both nationally and internationally in attracting new investment.
Governor Tere Jiménez has played a key role in this success, promoting economic development policies that have resulted in this impressive growth.
Her administration has focused on creating a business-friendly environment, offering political stability and legal certainty, key factors that investors seek.
In addition, he is committed to maintaining and strengthening security, and to fostering cooperation between government and the private sector to ensure that Aguascalientes continues to be an attractive place to live and invest.
Highlighting Aguascalientes' strategic position, Esaú Garza de Vega, Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology (Sedecyt), noted that the entity not only stood out nationally, but also led the Bajío region in terms of FDI in 2023, surpassing states such as San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, and Guanajuato.
This leadership reflects the success of the strategies implemented to attract foreign investment and the ongoing commitment to improve the business climate.
