AMDA prepares US$8.3 million investment in Querétaro

QUERETARO - In the first half of the year, three automotive distribution agencies are scheduled to open, representing investments of US$8.3 million.
The president of the Association of Automotive Vehicle Distributors of Queretaro (AMDA), Laura Rodriguez Miranda, explained that the three projects will be installed in the state capital and will generate 240 direct jobs.
The businesswoman said that the state is strategic for investments in the sector; therefore, she added that 2025 is expected to be a year of growth and opportunities in this industry.

Among these projects, two correspond to light vehicle brands and one motorcycle brand.
“Lincoln will have an exclusive sales floor in the new Ford dealership, the third in Querétaro; the investment of these two brands is US$5 million. In addition to the recent opening of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle agency with US$53.3 million, a brand that for some years was out of our state and today Grupo Soni brings it back,” he said.
According to AMDA data, in 2024, 16 new agencies were installed in Queretaro, representing an investment of US$64 million and 1,200 direct jobs.
Laura Rodríguez pointed out that the business community has confidence in the state to establish its operations.
“Querétaro is an important place because of the legal certainty and security that exists, which allows it to be a place where premium cars are most marketed,” she said.
The association represents 73 car, truck and motorcycle dealerships that generate around 14,000 jobs.
During January, 2,964 new vehicles were sold in the state, representing an annual growth of 6.4%.
With this level of sales, Querétaro contributed 2.5% of the country's sales, making it the tenth largest market among the 32 states.
Of the sales made in January, the majority corresponds to the truck segment, distributed in multipurpose units and trucks, representing 1,640 units (55.3%), while 1,324 (44.7%) automobiles were sold in the subcompact, compact, luxury and sports categories.
In Querétaro, according to AMDA, the most sold brands are Nissan, Volkswagen, General Motors, Kia and Toyota, companies that contributed 56.9% of the total number of transactions in January.
