American Woodmark opens its first plant in Nuevo Leon

NUEVO LEON – The U.S. company American Woodmark opened its first plant in the state of Nuevo León, in which it invested US$45 million.

American Woodmark is a leading manufacturer of wood cabinets for kitchens and bathrooms, and the investment represents a significant boost to the economy of Ciénega de Flores and the surrounding area. In addition, the plant is expected to provide job opportunities and professional development for the community.

The Winchester, Virginia-based company announced that the new plant will create 400 new jobs. American Woodmark is one of the three largest cabinet manufacturers in the United States, with more than 10,000 employees in its 18 factories in North America.

Annually, the company produces 10 million cabinets and 648 thousand kitchens globally, consolidating its position as a key player in the industry.

The announcement of American Woodmark’s investment in Mexico was made in January 2023, generating great expectation for its positive impact on the economic development of Nuevo Leon. The inauguration of the plant represents a milestone in the company’s history and an important step in its expansion in the Latin American market.
