Ampure Expands Operations in Guanajuato

Ampure, a company specializing in charging solutions for electric vehicles, has announced the launch of a new production line at its facility in Silao, Guanajuato.
This expansion is accompanied by a significant milestone: the achievement of the Ford Q1 certification—one of the highest distinctions awarded by the automaker to its strategic partners worldwide.
The state's Economic Development Ministry highlighted that the expansion represents a US$4 million investment and will generate over 300 direct jobs, reinforcing Guanajuato’s position as a national leader in electromobility.
The Ampure Charging Systems Guanajuato plant, located in the VYNMSA Industrial Park, was originally developed by Webasto Charging Solutions and later acquired by U.S.-based Transom Capital Group. Since then, it has operated under the Ampure brand, focusing on the production of portable and wall-mounted EV chargers, including models tailored for the Ford Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit.
With 12,000 square meters of production space on a 23,500-square-meter site, the plant received an initial investment of US$51.6 million. Its installed capacity allows for the production of up to 440,000 units annually, with exports exceeding US$70 million, primarily to the North American market.
Ampure supplies leading global brands such as Ford, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru. The company also maintains a strong commitment to local sourcing, incorporating 34% domestic content—including plastics, packaging, and fasteners—supporting suppliers like IMI MX, Kimball, and Sunningdale.
This project adds to Guanajuato’s robust automotive ecosystem, which includes over 400 investment projects, more than 145,000 skilled jobs, and total investments exceeding US$21.7 billion. The region's strong ties to the United States are further reinforced, with over 90 U.S.-backed projects in the state generating more than 31,000 jobs and representing investments of more than US$5.3 billion.
