The US company Aptar Beauty -a leader in dosing, dispensing and protection technologies for pharmaceutical products- inaugurated the expansion of the plant it operates in El Marqués, Queretaro.

The expansion plan requires an investment of US$15.6 million and the creation of 286 jobs, confirmed the state government in a press release. The plant will supply both the North American and Latin American markets.

"The new 26,000-square-meter building has advanced manufacturing capabilities, with 40 injection molding machines and 47 high-speed assembly machines," said Aptar Group CEO Stephan Tanda.

The facility, he added, integrates high environmental standards for CO2 emission reduction and energy savings.

He also explained that the new unit is in line with the company's strategy to meet the growth needs of its customers in the region.

He pointed out that the company has more than 30 years of history in the country; it is currently present in 20 countries.

The investment reaffirms the company's confidence in Querétaro, said Governor Mauricio Kuri González, stating that the state offers security and a solid rule of law.

During his speech, the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, highlighted that the state government will provide support to the projects, as well as in the training of the talent needed by the companies.

Aptar Beauty creates packaging and dispensing solutions for fragrances, cosmetics, etc.; it has a dispensing and packaging portfolio with more than 160 products in nine technological platforms, according to the company.

The United States is the main investor in the state, representing almost US$5 billion, concentrating 26.4% of the foreign direct investment that the state received between 2006 and 2024, according to the Ministry of Economy.
