Argentina looking to expand maize trade with Mexico

Argentina is looking to increase its currently limited maize exports to Mexico, as part of an attempt to expand the commerce with this Country. The Presidents of Brazil and Argentina have declared recently that they want to reinforce commercial ties with Mexico and other Latin American countries that might be threatened by the protectionist measures in the U.S. Argentina would become consolidated during the 2016/17 season, as the second largest maize exporter in the world. Between the months of January and November 2016, this Country sent 97 tons of this produce to Mexico, who is the main buyer of maize from the U.S.
