Automotive industry, the main income generator in Mexico

The automotive industry is the main income-generating sector in Mexico, which is why a change in commercial exchange could put pressure on the Mexican currency. The net currency inflow from automotive sales recorded in Mexico, reached an unprecedented amount of US$ 3.36 billion during the first semester of 2017, according to the most recent reports by Mexico’s Institute of Geography and Statistics (INEGI). The accumulated amount in this sector’s balance presents a 12.48% annual growth rate.
