Automotive Industry will generate jobs in Mexico

There is a positive outlook for job creation in the Mexican automotive industry, as the number of openings is expected to increase by up to 60% within the next 5 years, according to experts from the sector and from work affairs. The latest data collected by the Mexican Institute of Geography and Statistics (INEGI) and the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA), states that companies from this sector provided direct jobs to 730,923 people during 2014. Under the prospect of having the automotive industry job market grow between 50 to 60% over the next 5 years, nearly 1.2 million direct jobs would be created. Eduardo Solis, President of AMIA, affirmed recently that the automotive industry shall require 150,000 more workers with technical qualifications by 2020, since the sector is expected to double its size.
