Germany-based automotive supplier Bosch reported it ended its 2016 fiscal year with consolidated sales of US$ 1.2 billion in Mexico, said the company in a press release.

Bosch Mexico president René Schlegel said the company posted a good first half of 2017, achieving a strong double-digit growth, but no concrete figures were provided.

"Maintaining our growth is possible thanks to our partners, their work is a reflection of the commitment and strength necessary to face each year new challenges and achieve excellent results," Schlegel said.

The official explained that as a result of the growth in sales and production, Bosch Mexico now employs more than 14,500 associates and by the end of 2017 will reach more than 15,000.

René Schlegel also said that in 2016, Bosch invested nearly US$ 80 million at its locations in Mexico, like the Mobility Solutions plant in Aguascalientes, which expanded with the introduction of new manufacturing lines for automotive components.
