German auto parts manufacturer Bosch plans to conclude at the end of this year the US$ 85 million expansion carried out since 2016 at its San Luis Potosí plant, company officials revealed to local media in recent days.

According to the plant's technical vice-president, Ruediger Zeitler, this expansion includes the construction of a new manufacturing building, a logistics center, an office area, a cafeteria, a training center and an engineering center, for a total footprint of 25,000 square meters.

For his part, the commercial vice president of the plant, Gunter Daut, said that the expansion also implies the opening of 300 new job positions for the production area, which will be added to the 3,272 associates both in production and administrative areas that currently work in the facility, making it the third largest site of the company, behind the ones in Ciudad Juarez and Toluca.

The San Luis Potosi plant manufactures speed sensors, ignition coils and solenoid valves for gasoline, which makes it the only Bosch facility in Mexico that builts components for fuel systems.
