CEMEX expands its production in Jamaica

JAMAICA – CEMEX announced a plan to expand the production capacity of its Jamaican subsidiary, Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCCL). This expansion aims to increase CCCL's cement capacity in said country by up to 30% through an investment of approximately US$40 million for the first phase of the project.

The announcement was made by CEMEX CEO, Fernando A. Gonzalez, during his visit to Jamaica, along with the Prime Minister of Jamaica Mon. Honorable Andrew Holness, relevant Jamaican Government officials and key company representatives.

"We are in the final stages of the engineering phase and in obtaining permits from the local authorities," said Fernando A. Gonzalez.

This expansion plan should be completed by the second half of 2024 and is expected to strengthen the self-sufficiency of the domestic cement industry, while laying the foundation for exporting and strengthening CCCL's ability to serve the growing construction sector in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
