Industria Mexicana de Coca-Cola (IMCC) has announced that it uses up to 42% of its energy from renewable sources, which has reduced its impact on the environment in areas such as manufacturing, refrigeration and distribution.

The IMCC also reported that the bottling company, Arca Continental, reached in 2017 an index of 40% of energy from renewable sources, which includes wind energy.

With these initiatives, the IMCC avoided 126,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) during 2017, which is the equivalent of removing 27,000 vehicles from circulating the streets during one year.
