Continental to expand plant in Mexico

German firm Continental estimates to have a sales increase in 2018, thus reaching US$114 million and an upcoming expansion of its ContiTech plant in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico. Felipe Gonzalez, General Director of the plant, commented that there is a prospected increase in production, shifting from 2 million to 6 million pieces by 2018. This plant manufactures high pressure hoses for air conditioner equipment, hydraulic power steering and oil for vehicle assemblers. Mr. Gonzalez disclosed that 50% out of the 6 million pieces to be produced will be sent to car manufacturers located in Mexico, while the other half will go to the BMW and Mercedes Benz plants in the U.S.
