Cooper Tire restarts operations at its Jalisco plant

EL SALTO — Cooper Tire & Rubber Company announced that it plans to restart operations at its tire manufacturing plant in El Salto, Jalisco.

The company reported that the reopening will take place under harsh measures to protect the health and safety of employees, including social distancing, additional cleaning and disinfection of facilities, restricted access to visitors and other necessary steps in order for employees to return to work.

The announcement of the temporary closure of the plant due to the impacts of the coronavirus was made on March 21st. While Cooper's American plants in Findlay, Ohio; Clarksdale and Tupelo, Mississippi; and Texarkana, Arkansas, are temporarily closed.

Cooper mentioned that it has a sufficient supply of products in inventory in order to return to manufacturing, and the company's distribution centers continue to operate and ship products to customers.
