Among the more remarkable ones is that we are proud of the following advantages: strategic locations and dynamic logistic platforms; five international airports are featured and two deep water ports. We have the longest border of any state in the country with 17 international border crossings all accessing the U.S. and this spells NAFTA Market.
We also have a solid communication network, a diversified economy, we are rich in natural resources and there is a young, enthusiastic and well-trained labor force with a Government that is efficient and facilitating.

Since the beginning of my administration we have launched this sector in an important way. As a result of the different strategies developed for investment promotion over the last 18 months, we have captured 62 private investment projects valued at around US$1.8 billion. This has generated a total of 22,000 new employees. This is remarkable given the fact that 16 projects have consolidated between expansions and there are new opportunities everywhere. All this represents a total investment of US$167 million and 16,000 new jobs were generated during 2012.

In our portfolio we have 16 new companies in the process of installation.
This represents a total investment of US$1.286 million and the potential now exists for 3,800 new employees. The work that we have been doing promoting investments and the support given to projects has already established a creative synergy featuring a common, organized front that attracts potential investors and their companies and also generates real interest in our State and in what we have to offer. These actions all taken together have generated great growth expectations for the upcoming months.
We are a strong State that offers great diversity, infrastructure, the best of geographic logistics, readily available resources and above all, a qualified labor force that is wellknown worldwide.
WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN TAMAULIPAS?
The future is all about certainty and growth in our productive vocational base. We have created new potential in the integration of clusters in the electric–electronic, auto parts, chemical– petrochemical and agro-industry clusters. On the other hand, the growth of the aerospace, medical, IT, energy, logistics and remanufacturing sectors have been dramatically consolidated.
The result is that in the short term there will emerge a vast number of projects that will enter strengthening the value of the supply chain. This will generate new business and more employees will move to a higher level.
This growth will certainly assure a better future for our State and our people.
