Electric vehicle laboratory inaugurated in Querétaro

QUERETARO - The Universidad Politécnica de Querétaro (UPQ) inaugurated the Electric Vehicle Laboratory, which is the only battery simulator for electromobility in Mexico.

Through this space, local talent is expected to be trained in the global trends that mark the automotive industry.

"Through this laboratory, the collaboration between academia and industry is promoted to generate practical learning," said the rector of the UPQ, Carlos Antonio Contreras López.

With this space, he added, it is also expected to promote battery technology, management of electrical systems, charging infrastructure and the link between sustainability and mobility.

Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), explained that the development of the laboratory was supported by the State Program for the Development of Technology and Innovation (Pedeti).

"This laboratory puts us at the forefront, (…) whoever has the opportunity to practice in this laboratory will know how to maintain the vehicles that are already in circulation," he said.

During the inauguration, he commented that the new laboratory represents a competitive advantage for the university, since it will be possible to interact with technology that is not common.
