Manufacturing jobs up 2.9% in June

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), the employed personnel for the Mexican manufacturing sector showed an increase of 2.9% in the month of June, compared to the same period last year. Worked hours also increased by 2.1% and average wages increased 0.7%.

In respect to the previous months, employed personnel in the sector registered an increase of 0.2%, according to the Monthly Survey of the Manufacturing Industry (EMIM). The hours fell by 0.4% and the average wages paid, which include salaries and social benefits, decreased by 0.5% in the sixth month of 2018, with seasonally adjusted figures.
