Engineering and Design Center for the Aerospace Industries Opens in Chihuahua

With the opening of Cenaltec’s new Engineering and Design Center, Chihuahua has expanded its infrastructure for developing specialized talent, in a facility equipped with 23 workstations and software used by companies in the automotive, aerospace, metalworking, technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The project has received support from the Institute for Innovation and Competitiveness (I2C) through the State Fund for Science, Technology, and Innovation (FECT), as part of a strategy to develop the technological capabilities available to students, technicians, and professionals working in the industry.

The new infrastructure includes tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA V5, Mastercam, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, 3D Experience, and Edgecam. These platforms enable digital design, simulation, and validation, facilitating error detection and optimizing designs.

The team aims to support participants by engaging with and becoming part of the processes in engineering, design, and manufacturing—sectors with a strong presence in the state of Chihuahua.
