EOI Electronics to invest US$70 million in Queretaro

QUERETARO - The company EOI Electronics laid its first stone in what will be its new complex located in the industrial zone of Ciudad Maderas in El Marqués, this project will have an investment of US$70 million and will represent 800 new jobs.

The Taiwanese company specializes in original LED components for automobiles and lighting and energy saving modules.

On behalf of the Governor, Mauricio Kuri González, the head of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, attended the event. He pointed out that the arrival of EOI Electronics with a project of this magnitude is a sign that the state continues to generate confidence so that investments in new projects can arrive.

He specified that the investment of US$70 million is estimated to be made in a period of five to seven years and will mean the creation of 800 jobs, emphasizing that this is the first company to be installed in Ciudad Marqués, industrial and commercial complex of Grupo Frisa, which will be an industrial development of 130 hectares.

“This new company adds value with the talent of the people of Queretaro in advanced manufacturing, we celebrate the state government's commitment to Queretaro,” he said.

Allan Kuo, CEO of EOI North America, highlighted that Queretaro is one of the states with the most history and capacity for industry. He also commented that EOI was founded in 1995 in Taiwan and currently every year around two million vehicles produced in North America have its innovative technology.

EOI Electrics is a company founded in 1995 specialized in high technology, designing and manufacturing LED technology products, with facilities in Germany, China, the United States, Spain and Taiwan, the country where it was founded.

Currently the Taiwanese company has more than 1,250 employees globally and as of December 2022, it has obtained more than 82 patents. Its arrival in Querétaro represents a great development opportunity for the LED technology sector, both for the automotive and industrial sectors.
