French auto supplier Faurecia plans to open next month new production lines at a plant located in the municipality of Huejotzingo, Puebla, central Mexico. The ceremony will take place on June 5.
The company is investing US$ 200 million in Mexico to update and expand most of its 15 facilities around the country, being the expansion at Huejotzingo the most significant.
This project will require around 300 employees to manufacture seats for several automakers, including Audi, which opened an assembly plant last year just a few miles away.Â
All three Faurecia’s divisions have operations in Mexico, that means a total 1,800 jobs will open in the coming months due to expansion plans for the exhaust systems, interiors and seating business.Â
Other customers the company supplies from Mexican facilities are General Motors, Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen and Tesla Motors.
