According to the Ministry of Economy, almost 1,900 companies in Mexico were set with German capital; according to the Mexican-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camexa) these companies have an accumulated capital of roughly US$30 billion, mainly with activities in the automotive and auto parts, pharmaceutical, chemical and electric-electronics, transport and logistics industries.  FDI from Germany in Mexico had an accumulated total of US$13.9 billion between the years 2000 through 2017, where 75% was concentrated in the manufacturing industry and 15% in commerce. Germany was responsible of 3% out of the total FDI in Mexico during such period and it occupied the fourth position among EU countries.
