Ford anticipates good production in Mexico
According to Raul Chavez, Product Development Manager of Ford Mexico, Ford’s production in Mexico will remain favorable, even with the NAFTA revision and the existing changes in the market’s demand. He recognized that there have been adjustments in the demand for some models, which has led to the cancellation of the San Luis Potosi (SLP) plant and the relocation of the Focus production to China. Chavez explained, regarding the turn of events in SLP, that SUVs and truck sales have increased, while car sales are dropping. Mr. Chavez assured that such decisions do not imply the removal of investment nor undo Ford’s commitment to Mexico.
