Local media in Hermosillo, Sonora, considers a fact that, starting 2020, the assembly plant that Ford operates in that city will begin to produce a new compact SUV, which, they say, is the Bronco II.

According to Expreso, the development phase has already begun at the facility with the preproduction stage scheduled for the last quarter of 2018. The news outlet ensures that the SUV will be introduced to the U.S. market in 2020.

It was also detailed that, according to internal sources, the decision was made since mid-2017 when it was announced that production of the Ford Focus would be shifted to China.

It is worth noting that Ford recently announced plans to launch a small SUV in the U.S. market along with the Bronco (not Bronco II), whose name has yet to be defined.
