Ford will temporarily suspend operations in Mexico due to COVID-19

MEXICO — Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, operations at Ford’s manufacturing plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico were halted in order to thoroughly clean and disinfect the companies’ facilities.

"We continue to work closely with union leaders to find ways to help maintain the well-being and safety of our employees, while seeking solutions to provide our customers with the vehicles they want and need," said Kumar Galhotra, president of Ford in North America.

Over the next few weeks, union leaders and Ford will be working together on plans to restart plant activities, as well as exploring additional protocols and procedures to help prevent the spread of the virus.
