Formal employment is growing in Baja California

According to figures from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the labor force of the State of Baja California continued under expansion from January to April 2016, as 24,146 new formal jobs were recorded in the State. Consequently, 6.8% of total new employment in Mexico has been created in this State, thus giving Baja California the second spot in the North Border, and the sixth spot nationally, in the annual add-up of all new jobs. This growth came after an increase in production that was reflected along with the 6.3% economic activity uprise during 2015. On the other hand, the unemployment rate in March 2016, was below 4.1%, while it stood at only 2.9% in March last year.
