Foxconn plans to set up in Querétaro
QUERETARO - Authorities of the Municipality of Queretaro received representatives of the Taiwanese company Foxconn, a world leader in electronics manufacturing, who expressed their interest in establishing their presence in the state.
It is worth mentioning that this initiative is part of Foxconn's strategy to consolidate its presence in Mexico, where it already operates in other regions of the country.
The Municipal President of Queretaro noted that the first formal contact with Foxconn occurred in March during the "Smart Cities Summit & Digital & Green Transformation Expo" in Taipei. At that event, the parties discussed collaboration with the government and local companies to boost the future leadership of Mexican manufacturing.
Following up on the meeting in Taipei, Foxconn representatives explained that the decision to position Mexico as a regional base for the North and South American markets will contribute to the modernization of Mexican industry.
The Government of the Municipality of Querétaro informed that during the meetings, Foxconn reiterated the possibility of establishing itself in Querétaro. The company currently has operations in Chihuahua, Tijuana, Guadalajara and Ciudad Juarez, where it has 30,000 employees distributed in seven manufacturing facilities.
Foxconn, established in Taiwan since 1974, is currently the world's largest electronics manufacturer. It also has 205 factories in 24 countries. In addition, the company has a 20-year track record in Mexico, where it has played a crucial role in the electronics manufacturing sector.
