FRASA Otay Industrial Park construction begins in Tijuana
TIJUANA, BC - The groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new industrial complex FRASA Otay Industrial Park in Ciudad Industrial Otay, a project that will have three modern industrial buildings strategically located in a key area of Tijuana.
With a thirteen hectare site, the industrial park seeks to offer first class infrastructure, providing proximity to both the Tijuana airport and the Otay border crossing, with a view to take advantage of the future Otay II border crossing.
The park's privileged location promises important benefits for the flow of goods and binational connectivity, features valued by various industries that require logistical efficiency.
This complex will be developed in two stages and contemplates a total area of approximately 60,000 square meters. The first industrial building, scheduled for completion in February 2025, already has its first tenant, which will occupy the space for manufacturing operations and related services.
The development of FRASA Otay Industrial Park not only represents a significant investment in infrastructure, but is also projected to be an important generator of employment in the region, with an estimated 1,500 to 2,000 direct jobs, depending on the types of industries to be established.
This type of investment highlights the confidence that the business sector maintains in the expansion and industrial dynamism of Tijuana, projecting the city as a center of opportunities and economic growth for the region.
The estimated investment for this project is around US$34.1 million, with the participation of the three levels of government and the private sector. This collaborative model has already proven effective in other initiatives.
