French auto supplier Mecaplast opens US$ 9.5 million plant in Guanajuato

After nine months of construction and US$ 9.5 million invested, the new plant of the French auto parts supplier Mecaplast Group was inaugurated at Guanajuato Puerto Interior industrial park and will generate 150 jobs.

Mecaplast second manufacturing plant in Mexico will make air intake systems for General Motors Co.’s Chevrolet Captiva in North America.

The 59,200-square-foot facility will start full production in January and also will begin making cam covers for Nissan USA in 2018 and interior trims for BMW AG’s 3 Series in 2019.

Mecaplast is leader in mold injection of technical parts for vehicles, designing, developing and manufacturing parts, sub assembly and integrated modules for vehicles.
