Gentherm to generate more than 250 new jobs in Celaya

CELAYA – Gentherm, a leader in thermal management technologies for heating, cooling and temperature control in seats, steering wheels and cup holders, currently employs 1,213 people and expects to hire more than 250 workers to reach the goal of 1,500 by 2021, and offer better service to its premium customers.

The Gentherm plant, located in the Amistad Celaya Sur Industrial Park, Guanajuato, has as clients FCA, BMW, Ford, General Motors, Honda, KIA, Toyota, Tesla, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz and Nissan. In addition, they supply oxygen sensors for the gas tank, as well as the wiring to companies such as Bosch Toluca and Bosch Anderson in North Carolina, which is why their participation in the automotive industry is essential for Mexico.

The US-German capital company began operations in March 2016, generating 671 jobs and with a projection to generate 1,500 jobs throughout the Industrial Corridor region. The plant currently employs 1,213 people, of which 53% are women and 47% are men.

Gentherm is a leading global company in the development and commercialization of innovative thermal management technologies for heating, cooling and temperature control; being this latest invention, the one that revolutionized the automotive industry, since the first seat of its kind was adopted by Ford, with which the driver could manipulate temperature.

Its plant in Celaya is the third to be installed in Mexico, in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, and currently it has two manufacturing centers in La Amistad Industrial Park.
