Allgaier Group, a Germany-based manufacturer of automotive body parts structural components, recently inaugurated its second production facility in Mexico, this one located at the FINSA industrial park in the city of Aguascalientes.
The company invested US$ 20.6 million and opened 100 high skilled job positions in order to start operations. The facility will supply body parts for BMW, Audi, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, whose production line is about to officially start operations at the Cooperation Manufacturing Plant Aguascalientes (COMPAS), an assembly plant jointly developed by Daimler and Nissan’s premium automaker Infiniti.
According to the state government, in this year 16 manufacturing plants of national and foreign capital have started or expanded their operations in Aguascalientes, which has generated an investment of US$ 112 million and the opening of more than 2,000 jobs.
In his speech, Allgaier Group President, Dieter Hundt, said that the German automotive industry will continue to work with Mexico.
“I am optimistic that cooperation between Germany and Mexico will continue, that cooperation will be successful and that growth will continue for all,” he said.
Allgaier Group opened its first plant in Mexico back in 2011 in the state of Puebla and has been constantly expanding ever since. The stamping and assembly facility is comprised of a total production and storage area of more than 12,650 square meters.
Besides producing structural parts for the automobile and supplier industry, mounting complex welded assemblies is part of the site's skill set. Located in the vicinity of Volkswagen and Audi assembly plants, Allgaier de Puebla has become a reliable, competitive partner in the local market.
