A Munich-based manufacturer builds a manufacturing facility at the Server Industrial Park in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, local media reported in recent days.
Knorr-Bremse Group is the world’s leading manufacturer of braking systems and supplier of additional sub-systems for rail and commercial vehicles. The company is scheduled to begin operations by mid-2018.
According to the Industrial Park's Sales Manager, Corina Lira, the company acquired a 23-hectare greenfield for the development of its campus, with plans to build at least two facilities.
The German company has more than 110 years of existence and employs more than 25,000 people worldwide. The amount of investment and jobs to be created at the Ramos Arizpe site remains undisclosed.
The company already has presence in Mexico through its subsidiary Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, a manufacturer of braking systems and other components for the heavy truck industry, which operates a three-facility campus at the border city of Acuna, Coahuila.
