GKN Aerospace expand operations in Chihuahua

GKN Aerospace brought an additional building online at its manufacturing site in Chihuahua, furthering its expansion and expanding its capacity to meet the growing demand from the aerospace industry in North America. The new facility will enable increased production of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems, further consolidating the integration of advanced defense and commercial aviation technologies in the state.

GKN Aerospace is a global supplier of technologies for the aerospace and defense sectors, specializing in the development of aerostructures and engine systems. Its products, systems, and services are featured in 90% of the major aircraft platforms currently in operation, including helicopters, commercial aircraft, business jets, military platforms, and advanced air mobility solutions.

The company also develops technologies focused on reducing weight and costs through the use of composite materials, additive manufacturing, electrical wiring harness systems, and advanced propulsion solutions. Furthermore, it is driving projects related to electric flight and the use of hydrogen as part of its strategy toward lower-emission aviation.

Currently, GKN Aerospace operates in 12 countries, has more than 30 manufacturing and technology facilities, employs approximately 16,000 people, and reports global sales of US$4.8 billion.
