GM to end production of the Aveo sedan in San Luis Potosi this month

General Motors will stop producing the Aveo subcompact model at the San Luis Potosi assembly plant this month, as the new version will be imported from China, revealed the Marketing Director of GM Mexico, Pedro Ruiz.
The San Luis Potosi facility will focus its production capacity in the Chevrolet Trax compact crossover as well as the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain SUVS.
From 2011 to 2015 the Aveo was the best-selling vehicle of its segment in the Mexican market, where is still in the Top 5 ranking.
So far this year, 59,453 Aveo have been sold in Mexico. The unit rivals 27 models from 13 different brands in a competitive segment with half a million vehicles sold during 2017.
