Grupo Bimbo reduces investments for 2018 as a precaution

Grupo Bimbo Mexico will reduce investments by almost 6% in 2018 to an amount close to US$800 million, as part of their precautionary action in the start of new projects and to maintain the reduction of their debt.

"We invested during the first six months (of 2018) about US$340 million, which is clearly less than half of the initial estimate we had (...) we have been cautious when starting new projects,” said Diego Gaxiola, director of finance for the company.

Originally, Grupo Bimbo had set out to invest around US$850 million this year.
