Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems builds in Guanajuato its sixth Mexican plant

Sistemas de Arneses K&S Mexicana, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc., announced plans to build in San Felipe, Guanajuato, its sixth harness plant in Mexico. The project will require a US$ 4.36 million investment and 950 permanent jobs will be created along with this operation.

The company plans to start operations in September at a provisional facility located in the same municipality, before moving to its own building at the Torres Mochas Industrial Park by the end of first quarter 2018.

Sistemas de Arneses K&S Mexicana was founded in 1996, the same year it started operations in Aguascalientes, a state where the company owns two production facilities. Two additional plants are located in San Luis Potosi and another one operates in Zacatecas. Its current workforce total 4,500 employees.
