Guadalajara Airport expects cargo transportation growth

GUADALAJARA – Guadalajara International Airport continues to record a recovery in passenger and cargo movement, being this segment with the highest growth for this year.

Martin Pablo Zazueta Chavez, airport director, detailed that 2019 was the best year not only for the terminal but for the industry, in said period it registered 8,133 cargo aircraft operations, while in 2020, increased by 8,700 and in the first quarter of this year they have registered 2,384, therefore the trend is to maintain the growth in cargo.

"This trend reveals that this year we are very likely to be above 2019 levels, which could be a historic year in the cargo segment at Guadalajara International Airport," he said.

Likewise, he mentioned that in 2019, 16 companies dedicated to the movement of products were operating, which remained during 2020 and by 2021 decreased to 15 companies.
