Guanajuato invests US$40 million in La Moderna plant

The Mexican company Grupo La Moderna has begun construction on a new cookie factory in Irapuato, Guanajuato, a project that involves an investment of US$40 million and the creation of 300 direct jobs, thereby strengthening the state’s industrial and agri-food capacity.

This investment reflects the confidence that Mexican companies have in Guanajuato as a destination for productive development; projects like this drive job creation, strengthen regional economic activity, and create new opportunities for Guanajuato families.

The new facility will be integrated into the operations that Grupo La Moderna already maintains in the state through activities related to wheat milling, storage, and processing, consolidating a value chain linked to the food industry.

The factory’s operation will also generate demand for sectors such as transportation, logistics, services, and industrial supply, expanding the economic impact beyond the creation of direct jobs. This dynamic will help strengthen the productive ecosystem of the Bajio region.
