Harman opens its fourth plant in Juarez
JUAREZ, CHIH - Harman Automotive, with a trajectory of more than a quarter of a century in the border region and owner of three facilities focused on the commercialization of speakers and audio accessories for vehicles, carried out the opening of its fourth plant in Juarez.
This new factory will specialize in plastic injection molding, and plant 4 is expected to start producing the first parts between September and October, with full-scale production to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
The company has earmarked a five-year investment of US$15 million for the project. In addition, plant 4 will generate 100 direct jobs and, additionally, 240 indirect jobs will be created through the supply chain and local services.
Veronica Morales Muñoz, who heads Harman's operations in Juarez and El Paso, explained the positive impact this state-of-the-art facility will have on the company's current activities in the city, noting that the new facility will also produce critical plastic components that will allow the company to replace imports with local production and integrate them directly into the assembly line.
The initial target is to reach a production of 255 thousand units, with the ambition to expand to 7 million. Plant 4 will supply plants 1 and 2, to strengthen its supply chain, added Morales.
The new plant is located on 10051 Manuel Talamás Camandari Boulevard in Vesta Park, southeast of Juarez.
