Hindu Business Delegation Visits Querétaro.

A delegation of business leaders and diplomats from India visited the state of Querétaro to explore investment and collaboration opportunities between the two regions.

As part of the agenda, the delegation met with representatives of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), along with India’s ambassador to Mexico, Pankaj Sharma, and the head of Sedesu, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero.

According to the state secretariat, the plan is to maintain a work agenda that will help promote trade and attract new investment from both regions.

The meeting also served to highlight the potential of this centrally located region as a destination for projects, as well as its infrastructure capabilities, talent pool, and other characteristics.

Trade has grown; Querétaro’s exports to India have previously totaled US$10 million, making the state the 12th-largest exporter, according to information shared by the Ministry of Economy (SE).

The best-selling items from Querétaro for the Indian market are instruments, devices, and machines for measuring and testing; liquid pumps; hydrometers and similar floating instruments; thermometers; barometers; and so on. Meanwhile, imports from India total more than US$492 million, primarily due to shipments of parts and accessories for motor vehicles, tractors, and graders, among other items, making it the seventh-largest source of imports from the country.

Meanwhile, Mexico's main exports to India have been cell phones and other wireless devices. Imports have consisted of automobiles and other vehicles designed primarily for the transportation of people.
