Honda’s accumulated investment in Mexico worth US$1.7 billion

The Honda plant in El Salto, Jalisco celebrated its 30th anniversary of operation in Mexico; over this period, the assembler has invested US$1.7 billion, including the plant in Celaya. The plant in Jalisco is currently manufacturing the HR-V, motorcycles, power products and components. The HR-V that is manufactured in Jalisco is exported to the US, while the other model manufactured in Celaya is for the Mexican market. During the ceremony for the 30 years of the plant in Mexico, Hiroshi Shimuzu, President of Honda Mexico, underscored that the plant started operations with 51 employees. Operations in Honda Mexico have over 7,900 workers so far.
