The Secretary of Economy, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, inaugurated in Mexico City the Honeywell Center for Research and Development, to serve this U.S. based firm oriented towards product development and search of technological solutions in Mexico. Mr. Guajardo mentioned that the main preoccupation should be how to develop talents and capacities of the new generations to become adapted to a changing world that needs different responses. In regards to the new relation with North America, he affirms that three elements will have to be considered: re-designing the new alliance model in North America, recognizing benefits for all three countries; being aware that the agreement must be evolved into the XXI century; and that every agreement must bring about benefits to their respective countries. “There is no successful negotiation if there is no profit for its participants”, he remarks.
