Erich Jaeger opens facility in Coahuila to supply Daimler truck plant

After a US$ 6 million investment and one year of construction works, electric components supplier Erich Jaeger opened a new plant at the border municipality of Piedras Negras, in the Northern state of Coahuila.
The company will hire 500 workers to manufacture sockets, connectors and adapters for heavy trucks. The plant will supply its products to the “Derramadero” truck plant located in Saltillo, the state capital, where Daimler builds Mercedes Benz and Freightliner Class 4-8 units.
Germany-based Erich Jaeger develops and manufactures connector systems for the automobile, commercial, agriculture and military vehicle industries worldwide.Â
The company offers electrical wiring harnesses for trailer couplings to electrically connect trailers and towing vehicles; vehicle-specific harnesses for current cars; and wiring, plug-in connectors, electrical/electronic installations, and trailer couplings.
This is Erich Jaeger’s first production facility in Mexico.Â
