General Electric (GE) inaugurated the second tower of its Global Operations Center in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, after a US$ 20 million investment, the company announced.

The Global Operations Center is the place that will host shared services related to accounting, taxes, customs offices, human resources, treasury and purchases. Around 1,200 employees work at this facility.

Ildefonso Guajardo, Secretary of Economy, underscored that this Center is integrating into the international leadership of OECD and the World Economic Forum to lead the efforts of the digital revolution.

The official pointed out that Nuevo Leon state hosts almost 40% of GE’s operations in Mexico and it’s been 120 years since the company made business in the country for the first time.
