The cargo train that is being built in order to speed up the transportation of materials in the construction process of the New International Mexico City Airport (NAICM), had a 38% cost increase due to variations in exchange rates and fees for railroad usage; the plan is to have the train start operations in August, explained Ferrovalle Director, Erich Wetzel. The total investment is valued at US$67 million instead of the estimated US$48 million. The train will have an extension of 17 kilometers and is now 50% complete.
