India-based automotive supplier Sakthi to open US$ 33 million plant in Durango

India-based automotive supplier Sakthi plans to open a production site in Durango to manufacture aluminum components for braking and suspension systems, Ramon Davila Flores, state Secretary of Economic Development, announced in a press conference.

The company will invest US$ 33 million to set up operations at the Durango Logistic and Industrial Center. Sakthi expects to create 600 jobs, 200 of them will be high-paying positions, said the official.

Davila Flores pointed out that 20 engineers have been recruited already and sent to Michigan for training in order to work on the installation process.

A breaking ground ceremony will take place coming October first.
